Alan Wayne Barnes

Alan has finally survived to the ripe age of 4.  He is outspoken but minds his manners.  He has recently acquired a new baby brother Jacob.  He seems to genuinely like him.  He worries if he cries and tries to help feed him.  Alan enjoys such shows as Batman Beyond, Anything Power Rangers, and Rugrats (which he confessed to me the other morning that He was Tommy, Jacob was Baby Dill, Daddy Nicky was Stu, and I was Tommy's mommy.)  As soon as he reaches 4 and a half we plan on placing him in a Karate class, and hope this helps him settle down a little.

Our daughter Sherri married Nicholas McKinney on February 14, 2000 in Nashville, TN.  Where they were crooned to by John Berry and Bryan White.  They have now been happily married for a year and a half.  Nicholas is from Longview, Tx.  He is the oldest of three.  He and Sherrie met over the internet and started to see each other (despite the four hour drive one way).  He gladly stepped in to help with Alan.  Soon they were engaged and rushing off to get married.  Several months later Nick packed up Sherrie and Alan and moved them to Austin.  Sherrie started working in a call center for Sears, while Nick continued at Broadwing.  In May he was let go from Broadwing.  After much searching he started at Dell Computers as Tech support.  We hope he does well.

We are proud to announce the birth of Jacob Thomas-Scott McKinney, a 8 lb. 12 oz. 21 inch baby boy.  Welcome to the family Jacob.  Now as my second grandson I need you to learn a very special word.....FOOTBALL!!!  Remember, Soccer BAD!  Football GOOD!

Jacob is the newest member of the Texas Connection.  He was born at a whopping 8lbs 12 oz.  and 21 and a quarter inches long.  At his two week check up he was 9lbs 14oz and 21 and a half inches long.  He is growing in leaps and bounds.  He holds his head up very well, and is developing a set of lungs.  We are still waiting for him to start sleeping through the night.
